He recently pivoted back to university and started a professorship with IoT focus. He has been an industrial guest lecturer of our IoT class several times and co-authored a book on Story Driven Modeling. As all the teaching material for our IoT course is public and accessible, the newly created videos, the course infrastructure, the framework, and of course the direct access to Ulno made the adoption of the course for his own classroom a very natural and easy choice. In Ruben’s class, it turned out that using a Raspberry Pi for a mobile gateway really helped to get students gathered into small teams around mobile infrastructure and strongly facilitated hands-on lab work. He had to slightly adjust the existing slides and wrapping your head around the flipped classroom ideas was not easy at the start but turned out to be quite welcoming later in the course.

Story of an Austrian Bachelor Student and the Smart Nursing Home

Toby was a computer science student at the end of his bachelor program in mobile computing when he decided to enroll in the IoT course at FH OÖ in Austria Linz. He found lots of headphones used for studio production and thought we could give it a spin and maybe a funny twist here in the IoTempire. Unfortunately, it got a little longer than expected, but we think there are still lots of funny moments to explore.

Techunboxing: From Sleepable Headphones to DIY Phone

Finally, some time to take a look at all the tech that came in recently. There is such a huge repository of ready-made software projects that can easily be installed and customized with this IDE makes it the natural choice for lots of hobby projects. However, when deploying multiple nodes of a systems and connecting a huge number of devices, the maintenance of a swarm of devices becomes cumbersome. We suggest, also taking a look at ulnoiot, node-red, PlatformIO and/or Mongoose OS at the point you encounter these requirements.

IoT and Arts

iotarts

We have observed that arts can facilitate in multiple regards in the space of Internet of Things.
